BlazBlue is kind of awesome. I don't know why it came with a 2-CD Soundtrack and Blu-Ray Disc, but that is ok (I just ordered whatever was on Amazon).
My favorite character so far? Post-Op Bridget? LOLi vampire? No, I'm going to have to go with my man Carl "GAME OVER" Clover. Using him and Nirvana is absolutely confounding.
Plus, thanks to "use right joystick for special moves" schematics, the game is quite fun. We also have Street Fighter 4, but some of the moves are way too complicated to do on a controller.
Oddly, I'm really only playing Blazblue as a transition game until Shadow Hearts: Covenant arrives from eBay (yes, I am playing a brand new PS3 game to hold me over until a 5 year old PS2 game arrives).
I'm kind of contemplating whether to get a GameFly account, considering I average spending about the same to buy games and resell them on eBay.
Speaking of games I have played, I beat Valkyria Chronicles a month or so ago, and started watching the anime adaptation. It is actually, quite awesome, since they kept most of the seiyuus the same, kept a lot of the music and sound effects the same, and are fleshing out the story. With Umineko No Naku Koro Ni and Haruhi Season 2 coming out, this could be a solid second half of summer season of animu.
To conclude, PLAY ME OFF CARL:

Fun Fact: It took 35 hours to beat "Eternal Sonata". Now I hate Chopin....
Other Fun Fact: My bass guitar skills are improving quite well, or at least, quite well for 11 days... |

So thanks to K-ON, I am now learning the bass guitar. Anybody have tips on how to learn this thing VERY quickly (I might have to start performing as soon as in 4 days). |

My housemates and I have played obscene amounts of Rock Band in the last two days. I mean OBSCENE, like if I told you the actual number of hours played, the FCC would put a censor bar on it.
Actual conversation, after singing Portal's "Still Alive" song:
Housemate 1: Where is this from? WATASHI: A video game. Housemate 2: What, My Little Pony? (he is noting that it sounds so calm). BOKU: No, it is called "Portal", and the song is ironic because throughout the game, a computer is trying to kill you. Housemate 1: Why does it mention cake? ORE-SAMA: The computer promises cake if the player succeeds. It is delicious and moist. Housemate 1: Like Persona 3 (there is a chocolate cake item in the game). YO SOY: Yes. Housemate 2: Does that Persona 3 game also have My Little Pony in it? Me: Yes, it is like Pokemon, but more emo.
I cannot wait until the Pokemon Theme Song becomes a DLC... |

So through Craigslist, we were able to buy Rock Band 1 & 2 for the PS3 with the instruments for $125. Is that a good deal?
Watch out jimthefly, I am practicing that Paramore song! |

Putting Azusa in the OP animation providing rhythm guitar?! Kyoto Animation owes me a new brass instrument because I just JAZZED IN MY TROMBONE!
Also, since I'm a huge music dork, if you compare the regular version of "Cagayake Girls" to this opening (especially 0:48-0:58), you can hear the "Azusa guitar riff" as an added layer to the song. It is these little things that make me realize why I am a sad lonely human being. |

| To celebrate "new" episode of Haruhi Suzumiya |
[May. 26th, 2009|08:17 pm] |
For those who care, the first season of that show broadcasted in three years ago in 2006. It is now 2009, and the episode talked about events that happened three years ago. CLUCK U KYOTO ANIMATION. |

[May. 23rd, 2009|04:42 am] |
Someone sent me a message on my phone saying "FUWA FUWA TIME".
Due to this, I will be going to Animu Boston tomorrow and will find YOU. Sayonara, teriyaki.
EDIT: 14 hours of sleeping straight kind of derailed that plan. |

Once again, another awesome episode. Plus, the sneak preview has MEIDO-SANs all over the place. Awesome.
Fallout 3 is kind of strange, even though I'm already 3 hours into it (I became an LOL Chaplain who killed everyone but the girl in the Vault with my Louisville Slugger). It kind of is not my style of games (Animu/JRPG) so it is going to take a bit to get used to (I'll break up the game playing by switching to Odin Sphere to get my animu fix).
I also officially no longer have a manager at work, so in a technical sense, I oversee myself. Even my timesheet does not need manager approval. Maybe I am starting to slowly move from being the grunt to grunt level 2. Nice. |

| After 40 hours and many "UGUU" shouts at the TV... |
[May. 15th, 2009|02:40 am] |
I finally beat Valkyria Chronicles. I saw the DLCs on the Playstation Store, and facepalmed right through my skull. Maybe some other time in the future, I will burn $15 so I can painfully relive this game.
Don't get me wrong, it was ridiculously fun, but also, the last missions were quite annoying. I would recommend it to anyone who owns a PS3 because it is very unique, and because it has LOLiz, though a disappointing lack of meido-sans.
Summer game plans:
Fallout 3 Eternal Sonata (multiplayer RPG with housemate, 5 hours in) Final Fantasy XII (thank you backwards compatible emulation) Odin Sphere (I'm already 15 hours in)
That still leaves about a dozen games that I have that I probably won't be able to get to in the summer.
I need K- onsan animu to break things up.
Since dumpsterkeeper started it, I will hit him back with:
GO MY WAY! |

| How to get p0wn3d by Trekkies |
[May. 9th, 2009|03:36 am] |
My housemates and I just got back from the midnight showing of "Star Trek" at the local IMAX theater. While there, we ran into a few people who were dressed up in the Starfleet outfits, along with Vulcan ears. I went up to one guy, and said "HIGH FIVE" and reached out with my hand. The guy, completely unfazed, replied back "NO, VULCAN FIVE", gave the Vulcan salute hand, and high fived my hand. I was utterly befuddled.
Trekkies, you folks truly amaze me.... |
